Toward Active Physical Human–Robot Interaction: Quantifying the Human State During Interactions

چکیده

Unanticipated physical actions from the robot on humans [active human–robot interaction (pHRI)] may be inevitable with deployment of robots in human-populated environments. However, it is still unclear how would perceive such and should execute them a physically psychologically safe manner. The objective this article to explore possibility quantifying humans’ mental state during an active robot, by means laboratory experiment. We hypothesize that could cause measurable alterations users’ data, which related their perceptions personalities. In experiment, user plays visual game using has hidden task results user. collect data physiological sensors, personalities via questionnaires semi-structured interview. Statistical analysis clustering collected total 35 participants showed relationships between participants’ age, gender, perception, Further developments based these exploratory outcomes can used implement pHRI controller account for both users.

Physical Human – Robot Interaction

C lose physical interaction between robots and humans is a particularly challenging aspect of robot development. For successful interaction and cooperation, the robot must have the ability to adapt its behavior to the human counterpart. Based on our earlier work, we present and evaluate a computationally efficient machine learning algorithm that is well suited for such close-contact interaction...

Toward Conversational Human-Computer Interaction

computers in conversational speech has long been a favorite subject in science fiction, reflecting the persistent belief that spoken dialogue would be the most natural and powerful user interface to computers. With recent improvements in computer technology and in speech and language processing, such systems are starting to appear feasible. There are significant technical problems that still ne...

Climate-Human interaction over the Iranian Plateau during the Upper Pleistocene-Holocene: A review

During the past two decades an array of studies have shed light on potential links between the evolution of Hominids as well as Human dispersal out of Africa and episodes of abrupt climate change. Although archaeological evidences suggest that anatomically modified humans appeared in Africa between 200 and 150 ky ago, the timing of the early humans migration out of Africa remained unclear. Stra...

Active Mouse for Physical Man-Machine Interaction

Integrating MEMS/micormachine devices has a great potential to realize new haptic interfaces, which exchange multi physical data between persons and machines. The authors have developed active mice, which consist of recently developed MEMS/micormachine devices such as micro accelerometers, micro force sensors, micro omni-wheels, micro reduction gears, and micro motors. The mice can travel in an...

Toward Quantifying System Manageability

Manageability directly influences a system’s reliability, availability, security, and safety, thus being a key ingredient of system dependability. Alas, we do not have today a good way to measure manageability or reason quantitatively about it, and this is a major hindrance in improving systems’ ease of management. In this paper, we propose a manageability metric that aims to be objective, intu...
